Taking Back Sunday Tour Notes - Birmingham, AL, October 27, 2013
I once again had the opportunity to see Taking Back Sunday on tour, for their show in Birmingham, AL, on October 27, 2013. This might have been an even more fun show than Nashville -- a very energetic crowd, an unusually nice & new venue, and the (re-)addition of Bonus Mosh Pt. II to the setlist, which I'd never seen them play in concert before. As I mentioned on our Twitter account, this was a nostalgic night for me -- the first time I ever saw Taking Back Sunday was on a Sunday night in Birmingham with Underoath opening. Spencer Chamberlain from Underoath, who has been taking over from Adam Lazzara due to a family emergency, is still learning all of the words -- he forgot the first couple of lines to MakeDamnSure, and he seemed to be looking down at a lyrics sheet during Bonus Mosh Pit. II. However, he's been doing a stellar job, and as one person pointed out to me, he even seems to be imitating Adam's style during some songs, intentionally or not, holding the mic at the bottom and having his other hand hang limp. Just no mic swinging.
Here's the setlist, along with two videos I took of Liar (It Takes One to Know One) and Number Five with a Bullet (with Joe Boynton from Transit). Enjoy!
